The season so far!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, football in England has come to a sudden halt, and this will be frustrating for anyone associated with Hanwell Town after a solid season in the league.

The Geordies currently sit in 2nd place, 6 points and 2 games behind leaders Ware. Despite losing their last match, they were unbeaten in the 6 previous games, and in a very tight title race in the top 2. A huge part in staying in the title race has been the spectacular away form, without a single loss and winning 8 out of 14 games on the road this season.

With Gareth Chendlik as Hanwell’s current top scorer in the league with 14 goals, it has been a promising season for the attackers, especially new man Ogo Obi, signed in January from Hayes and Yeading United, scoring 8 goals in just 7 games, who is also still remarkably the top scorer for the club he left this season, netting 13 for his former side.

Overall this season has certainly been a more than sound campaign for the Geordies, and whether this season is continued or not, Hanwell Town fans should be confident for the team finishing high in the table, and for the future seasons we desperately want to watch.
